Call for new chief editor – Acta Radiologica/Acta Radiologica Open

Current Issue CoverActa Radiologica is an old radiological journal founded back in 1921. The journal is owned by
the Nordic Radiological Societies (Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden). Our present chief editor will retire December 31, 2017 after having served in this position for 15 years (three five-year terms). The Board of the Foundation Acta Radiologica is therefore in a process to identify his successor for a 5-year term with possibilities of prolongation, starting January 1, 2018.

Acta Radiologica is an old radiological journal founded back in 1921. The journal is owned by
the Nordic Radiological Societies (Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden). The journal
is produced in 12 issues per year. Acta Radiologica also has a sister-journal, Acta Radiologica
Open, which is an open-access online journal founded in 2012. Both journals have the same
editorial board with altogether 13 section editors from 8 different countries in Europe, Asia,
and America covering all subspecialties within diagnostic and interventional radiology.
Our present chief editor will retire December 31, 2017 after having served in this position for

Required qualifications:
– International reputation in medical imaging
– Broad experience of clinical radiology and basic research
– Vast experience in planning, writing and presentation of scientific manuscripts
– Broad experience in editorial work
– High standard of English (vocal and written)
– A well-organized person with ability to prioritize and meet deadlines

An evaluation committee has been established consisting of Prof. Jussi Hirvonen (FI)
chairman, Prof. Katrine Åhlström Riklund (SE), and the present chief editor (NO) as secretary.
Closing date for applications will be December 31, 2016 and a final decision will be taken at
the annual meeting of the Board during the next Nordic Radiology Meeting to be held in
Reykjavik, Iceland June 29-July 2, 2017.

The new Chief editor must be able to invest a substantial part of his/her working time to the
journal. Salary will be negotiated.
